The first phase of I-WEST concluded in December with the publication of a final report that summarizes our key findings, recommends next steps, and provides a framework for a regional energy transition roadmap. The work presented in the report demonstrates a partnership between the U.S. Department of Energy and affected communities in the Intermountain West to address the challenges and opportunities associated with energy transition.
You are cordially invited to join the I-WEST team for a Fireside Chat to discuss Phase-I outcomes and their potential impact on future energy strategies. In preparation for a robust discussion, we are soliciting questions that you would like to ask the I-WEST team. Our preliminary agenda features conversations on the following topics:
- I-WEST Placed-based Approach
- Workforce Case Studies
- Building a Regional Bioenergy Economy
- Low-carbon Electricity Generation
- Building a Regional Hydrogen Economy
- Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage
- Next Steps
I-WEST experts in the areas of policy; workforce; economics; and energy, environmental, and social justice will be actively involved in each discussion, alongside our technical experts on hydrogen, bioenergy, electricity and grid, and carbon management.
If you would like to submit a question about the Phase-I report to be asked during the Fireside Chat, please send an email to [email protected] and include your name, organization, and question.
We look forward to seeing you!
