The I-WEST seminar series hosts thought leaders on a spectrum of topics tied to transitioning the Intermountain West to carbon neutrality, including technologies, policy, workforce, and environmental justice.

Seminar Summary

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022 marks the most significant action Congress has taken on clean energy and climate change in the nation’s history. It includes some two dozen tax provisions to save consumers money on their energy bills and accelerate the deployment of clean energy, clean vehicles, clean buildings, and clean manufacturing. In fact, the IRA was so substantive, the White House published a 184-page guidebook highlighting the tax provisions and the many grant and other funding programs supported by the legislation.

This seminar will offer a practical overview of the IRA tax credits and how they can be utilized by industry, businesses, municipalities, non-profits, and consumers to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy. The investments made possible by the IRA were designed to unleash transformative change that not only builds low-carbon energy systems, but also delivers lower energy costs and good-paying jobs—particularly in underserved communities. Plan to attend this seminar and take part in a discussion about how IRA tax provisions could impact the Intermountain West region.
